When Jimmy Linton and Eric Mancilla met and began music together in 1999 they realized there was a special uniqueness to the music they made. They've now released their first album of original music – Cry It Out – on May 4th, 2007. The record of 11 original songs was mastered at the Grammy Award Winning Terra Nova studio in Austin, Texas on March 23rd. Several well-known area musicians such as accordion player Ponty Bone, drummer Rob Lee from New Orleans, and sax player Steven Marcus Bernstein play on the album that was engineered by Ron Flynt at Jumping Dog Studios.
Jimmy Linton wrote or co-wrote all 11 songs on the album. Some were written recently but Jimmy has been playing some of the songs for years. He first played “Running Over the Border” in 1981 at a festival in Pease Park. Eric is also no stranger to the Austin music scene having played at the Armadillo World Headquarters and other landmark Austin venues with Polvo, a band he co-founded with his brothers.

Jimmy Linton had his first song published in 1962. Granted it was only on the main bulletin board at Jefferson Elementary School in Kansas City where he was attending second grade – but it was a start. Jimmy continued to write songs and penned most of the songs performed by Linton Mancilla. He started his first band with his friend Jerry Songer in junior high school. Jimmy, Jerry, and another friend played together for more than 20 years. One of the bands they played in, Pecos, played with The Oak Ridge Boys, Commander Cody and the Lost Planet Airman, and Delbert McClinton at famous venues like Billy Bobs of Texas and The White Elephant in Fort Worth. Linton Mancilla, formely known as The Nuisance, came together in 2002 and has given Jimmy the support and freedom to perform his original music and the creative push to write new songs.
